This vintage mid 20th century Japanese porcelain bowl features hand painted decoration depicting three geisha figures in the foreground with a landscape of temples, pagodas, torii gates, and cherry blossoms in the background. The scene is rendered in iron red, pink, green, blue, and gold enamels. The bowl has a scalloped rim with an orange red border decorated with gold accents, and the exterior shows relief molded panels with maple leaf motifs painted in orange red.
The piece measures 9.5 inches in diameter by 2.5 inches tall.
The bowl has a small chip on the foot ring that was present before glazing and has been glazed over during manufacture, so more of a minor factory flaw than damage. Otherwise, there are no chips or cracks. Please see all available photographs and consider them as part of the item description.
