A rare and coveted teak “Z” lounge chair by Poul Jensen from the early 1960s, fully refinished and reupholstered in … Read more A rare and coveted teak “Z” lounge chair by Poul Jensen from the early 1960s, fully refinished and reupholstered in a period-perfect chenille-tweed blend from Pollack’s Bon Vivant collection. Introduced by Selig in the late 1950s, the Z chair remains one of the most iconic and reproduced pieces in the canon of Danish Modern design.

The shape formed by the arms and their transition to the rear legs gives these chairs their namesake. The arms feature a slight flare at the outer edges while the slatted back is reminiscent of Kofod-Larsen’s iconic Blade chair.

The seat frame retains the original Selig placard. We redid the webbing with Evans Clips rather than stapling into the seat frame in order to preserve the original character of the seat. With new high density foam, the chair is solid, comfortable, and ready for another lifetime of use. See less
