This piece combines Mid-Century … Read more 1950s "Cymbal" series accent lounge armchair designed by John Van Koert for the Troy Sunshade Company. This piece combines Mid-Century Modernism with Chinoiserie details, Art Deco geometry, and Hollywood Regency glamour. Highlights include sculptural sweeping C-scroll arms, flared rear legs, and open-work interlocking ring spandrels under the seat apron. Constructed from heavy cast and extruded gold-anodized aluminum with a patinated finish.

The metal frame is in solid condition, completely straight and free of cracks, structural breaks, or repairs, with an authentic vintage patina to the gold finish.

Upholstered in a vintage patterned/cut burnt-orange velvet. Note that the original internal cushion foam has hardened and degraded over time. The chair will require new foam fill and reupholstery to be daily-use ready. The sound, uncompromised frame makes this an exceptional, high-value project piece for interior designers seeking custom client seating.
