This elegant side chair is crafted in the Biedermeier style and made in Italy, likely dating to the mid-20th century. The design features a beautifully sculpted walnut frame with a shaped walnut veneer back, allowing for a smooth, continuous grain across the surface. The gracefully curved, heart-shaped back creates a soft, lyrical silhouette, accented by a small black finial detail at the crest and a coordinating black stretcher, adding subtle contrast and visual interest. The warm walnut finish brings depth and richness to the overall form. The seat has been recently reupholstered in a floral fabric. A thoughtful and functional detail, the seat lifts out easily, allowing for convenient reupholstery or access if desired.
Marked on the underside with a label reading “Made in Italy, Bidermayer Chair – Walnut – Yellow Muslin,” consistent with mid-20th century Biedermeier-style production.
