This basket has a lovely design and effect. Created by the Frank Cobb Company, somewhere between 1926 and 1936. The company was also known as Period Pewter. The model number is 377. The basket is in the Arts & Crafts Style, though other earlier movements might claim it as well . . . Art Nouveau, Jugendstil, Secessionist. Frank Cobb did his work in Sheffield England. Marked at base.
The hammered / planished pewter is topped with it's original cane finished handle (which is in great shape for its age). The basket is 6" tall, and 12" long and 9" wide. The handles protrude and render the total width 10".
An exceptional article.
