Mid-20th-century Japanese export porcelain plates, marked “Japan,” featuring the “Peony” or “Victorian Rose” pattern. The design includes a large, hand-painted central peony, symbolizing wealth and prosperity, accented by a smaller budding flower. Scalloped edges and a delicate gold-leaf rim enhance the decorative detail.
These plates were commonly produced by exporters such as Toyo, Norcrest, and Lefton between the 1930s and 1950s. The “Japan” mark indicates post-WWII production.
Suitable for collectors of mid-century Japanese porcelain, vintage tableware, and hand-painted decorative plates.
