Beautiful diminutive Italian picture frame featuring an intricately detailed openwork design with scrolling Rococo ornamentation and an antiqued gilt finish. Marked Made in Italy on the reverse. The elaborate crest and richly sculptural border give this piece wonderful Old World character, making it as decorative as the artwork it displays. Currently fitted with a charming hummingbird print titled Calypte Annae, perfectly complementing the romantic European styling of the frame. The frame stands securely with its original easel back and displays beautifully on a tabletop, bookshelf, or vanity.
