Description
Handcrafted in heavy, high-quality bronze, the clock is lavishly finished in original fire gilding, burnished with 24-karat gold. The gilding has been professionally conserved, preserving its luminous depth and patina while highlighting the sculptural detail throughout.
The ornate Rococo case features flowing C- and S-scrolls, floral garlands, and abundant foliage. Crowning the clock are two finely cast cherubic children posed playfully atop the case—an emblem of Louis XV exuberance and romanticism.
At the center, an elegant white enameled dial displays Roman numerals with Arabic five-minute markers, framed by an elaborate ormolu bezel. Beneath the dial, decorative sound chambers enhance the resonance of the clock’s melodious chimes.
A sculptural bird motif perched on a classical goblet further enriches the composition, adding movement and narrative charm.
