The design of this chair was Charles Pollock's original design intent. This is not the Mass Modern version. Solid aluminum
too expensive to mass produce. So Knoll decided to make a more modular "safer" chair. For many enthusiasts the sleeker
look of the vintage 4 Star is the only way to experience Charles Pollock's original "single line" design intent. The new replacement
bases aka modern bases are designed to be more modular making it easier to replace cylinders or casters compared to there
integrated vintage version.
