Now that we know the technique, it's time to appreciate this unique and rare red metal bread or pie safe box from the late 19th Century. The images chosen are of romantic feel, and include women, children, fruit, and flowers.

The box seems to have been decoupaged in Massachusetts, as a few of the images has the state mentioned in them. One of them is from Townsend Mass and is of a compound recipe called Sawin's Extract which includes lemon, vanilla, checkerberry, rose, peppermint and Jamaican ginger all prepared with sugar. Another says Compliments of Emerson Piano Co of Boston Mass. And another says New Home Sewing Machine Co of Orange Mass.
