A very nice Japanese Lacquered Black Wood Set of Salad Bowls and Spoons. 9 Pieces. Lacquered and hand painted wood. Marked: Aizu logo and "Made in Japan" underneath the bowls. Aizu lacquerware brand was founded in 1919 by Fukunishi Sobe. Aizu lacquerware itself traces its origins to 1590. Japan, circa 1980-1990s. Very Good condition - minimal age wear on all pieces, one spoon has a repair on a handle, as it is shown on one of the images, clean. Probably was used mostly for display.
