Classic round, 2-handled gratin dishes from the French porcelain cookware fabricator, Apilco.

Thanks to their high-fired, durable porcelain composition which is non-porous, non-scaling, and non-cracking, these lovely dishes can go directly from oven to table. Traditionally used for baking individual servings of au gratin vegetables, creme brulee, crisps, seafood, and other delectable foods they are also perfect for serving salads, ice creams, and other cold repast. Marked en verso "Apilco, Porcelain au feu, France, 5,5".

Dating from the 1820s, this French porcelain workshop went through several iterations until it was purchased by the Deshoulières family and was established near Chauvigny, in western France where they continue the almost 200 year tradition of porcelain production.
