Vintage Danish rosewood desk by Erik Riisager Hansen 1950s.
Spectacular Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern freestanding writing desk model 66 in Rosewood/Palisander designed by Erik Severin Risager-Hansen for Haslev Møbelsnedkeri, Denmark.
Stunning vivid grain pattern on all surfaces. Veneered table top with with raised edge on three sides in solid Rosewood. Wide bevelled apron and round tapered legs in solid Rosewood. Beautiful joints between apron and legs. Six very deep drawers with integrated pulls, top drawers have a sliding lid for use as extra workspace.
This desk is of the highest possible quality craftsmanship and materials with a sculptural appearance. The design is minimalistic with beautiful details in every joint.
Only residue from the makers mark on underside.
Knee space: 67 x 66.5 cm.
Very good original vintage condition with patina consistent with age and use. Small nicks and scratches and a small missing splinter on a drawer pull, please see photo. Drawers run easily. Cleaned and polished, ready for use. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs,
