This elegant set features eight Minton porcelain bread-and-butter plates, each decorated with a gilded rim on a cream-colored ground. These versatile plates are perfect as a hostess gift, to complete an existing set, or to mix and match with complementary pieces. Originally designed for bread and butter, they can also be repurposed as individual finger food or party snack plates for entertaining.
Each plate is marked on the underside with a puce printed crown mark, used circa 1873-1912, an impressed triangular mark indicating the year of manufacture (1917), and a hand-scripted pattern number H3228. Made for Caldwell, a prestigious Philadelphia jeweler and retailer established in 1839. Shipped fully insured with a tracking number.
Measurements: 6 1/4" (16 cm) diameter approximately.
