This charming pair of antique twin metal headboards showcases graceful faux cane arches with pierced metal panels and delicate hand-painted floral medallions, all finished in a soft, time-worn white paint. The beds retain their original Shepherd casters and exhibit beautifully aged patina throughout—exactly the kind of authentic wear collectors and designers seek.
The pierced metal panels feature a repeating circular motif, lending lightness and visual interest, while the oval floral plaques—painted in gentle yellows and greens—add a romantic, European-inspired touch. The overall silhouette is refined yet playful, making these beds equally suited to traditional, cottage, French provincial, or English country interiors.
Original brass casters (marked Shepherd, a well-known American caster manufacturer active in the late 19th–early 20th century) further support the beds’ authenticity and period construction. The remaining paper inventory tags and handwritten markings are consistent with early 20th-century commercial furniture labeling and add wonderful provenance and character.
Period: Circa 1900–1920
While no headboard stamp is present, the materials, construction, caster marks, and decorative style strongly align with early 20th-century iron bed production, often seen in both American and European homes of the period.
