PORCELAIN COMPOTE: Pedestal, Reticulated, Dresden Flowers, Schumann, Germany 'CHATEAU', 5.5" High, 7.5" Wide, Gold Trim & Details, c1950s
This stunning round footed compote has a very gentle scallop to the gilded rim, reticulated band decorated with hand painted flowers and gold details with the center being the ever-so-popular and emulated by many the bouquet of pink cabbage roses, orange, yellow blue and purple flowers with florets about.
The details are extended to the outside of the band with some gold details and tiny florets, also on the stem with the round base being highly decorated. The pattern is called "Chateau" which is complimentary to "Empress" (a very similar pattern).
This has a deepened coupe shape and sits on an elegant pedestal. A nice sized compote which measures 5.5" High x 7.5" Wide at the top diameter with a base diameter of 4.25".
The bases are stamped over the glaze with the orange crown and Emblem which reads "Schumann Germany Chateau Dresden Flowers" Also on the upper section and the handpainted in green numeral 41.
This bowl dates to c 1940's to 1960's.
Size: 7.25" Top Diameter, 5.5" High, 4.25" Base Diameter.
Condition: Excellent, Pre-Owned Condition. There is some slight rust on the hardware underneath.
