Late 19th-century American lowboy chest in the Federal / Sheraton tradition. The piece features refined neoclassical proportions with turned legs, graduated drawers, and delicate inlay detailing on the upper drawer. Drawer fronts display figured wood veneer, consistent with period Federal furniture, while the case shows traditional dovetail drawer construction.
Original-style bail pulls and restrained ornamentation reflect Sheraton influence within the broader Federal period. The attached mirror completes the lowboy form, making this a classic bedroom or dressing piece with strong early American character.
Selling on behalf of my client; additional pieces from the same collection are also available for purchase and include a highboy, bedside table and a vanity table.
