This earthenware bowl, also known as a pancheon, was used to stand milk while the cream separates. The cream is then poured off the top with the small spout found on the lip. This antique bowl is in excellent condition, appropriately glazed a butter-yellow on the interior and a soft matte exterior. Glaze was not only a decorative choice but prevented the milk from being absorbed by the terra cotta. Today, this wonderful artifact of dairy farm history would make a fantastic fruit bowl or decorative object around the home. Please view the detailed images to see the current condition. See less
