The scarce huge Mid-century Modern - Hollywood Regency naturalistic deer with charming whimsical elements has a truly luxurious presence that's as rich and glamorous as it is refined, elegant, and sophisticated.

Hand-crafted in the late 1960s/early 1970s, exceptionally executed, large, heavy, and exquisitely detailed patinated gilt brass figural sculpture, depicting reclining stag deer, full body with head raised, slightly tilted down and facing in, featuring a most impressive six point antler rack with attractive spread, intricate hand incised detailing and applied decorative elements add to the unique mix of textures, rich metallic tones and warmth, and most distinctive artistic depth.

Retailed by designer Sarreid Ltd, with no obvious Sarreid marks, which is typical/expected of pieces from Sarreid, especially during this early period. Having a large "A" lightly grinded into the underside, most likely attributed to the original artistian/craftsman.

Placed on a console, sideboard, or oversized shelf, as a statement piece on the fireplace mantel, or as a fanciful whimsy table centerpiece, it's sure to bring a thoughtful touch of classic style, luxury, romantic elegance and sophistication to any space.

Good original antique / vintage condition. Presents splendidly, with nicely aged patina over the whole. Repair to extended leg. Age appropriate wear, retaining original character marks, patinated, oxidized, tarnished, distressed finish that only adds to the overall character and charm!
