This is a really lovely wingback arm chair by high end American furniture maker Hickory Chair of Hickory, NC. The original vintage upholstery is a large-scale pattern of pink roses, ribbons, and bows on a field of sophisticated cocoa brown. Unapologetically feminine and fun. Grandmillenial + Hollywood Regency = Dorothy Draper vibes = These Chairs
The chair has a classic wingback form with rolled arms and solid mahogany cabriole legs with carved foliate details on the knees and ending in pad feet. Signed Hickory Chair under the seat.
The late 20th century chair is in very good vintage condition. The chair is exceptionally well made, sturdy, and beautiful. The solid wood legs are in great condition with some minor scratches. The fabric has some faint stains, which are somewhat camouflaged by the brown fabric and large scale pattern. The corners of the wings are frayed, and one arm has a tear on the fabric. The chair could be reupholstered, but the original vintage fabric is so rare and beautiful that I would keep it as is.
The arm chair measures 44.75" tall, 32" wide, and 32" deep with a seat height of 21 inches and an arm height of 26 inches.
