Mason's Patent Ironstone China plates in the "Canton Chinese Mountain Gilded" pattern, circa 1825. They are highly collectible items known for their durability and detailed Chinoiserie designs.
Manufacturer: Mason's of Lane Delph, Staffordshire, England.
Pattern: Often referred to as "Canton" or "Mandarin", the pattern features vibrant, oriental designs with pagodas, bridges, figures, and rich foliage.
Material: Made of ironstone, a type of vitrified earthenware patented by Charles Mason in 1813, designed to be more durable than traditional china. The plates have a distinct irregular, molded rim with thick gold detailing on the upper surface. These specific plates are late Georgian and date to approximately the 1820s or 1830s.
