A 19th century Country French comtoise, or grandfather clock, with polychrome painted pine case and embossed brass pendulum. Seven day Morbier movement, professionally cleaned and in working order. Enamel face signed by the clockmaker, Al. Métais and the name of his town, Ladon (in North Central France). Embossed brass clock surround and pendulum, with a flower cart and birds. The bottom glass is original and the top glass is replaced. Circa 1860-1880
