Produced by Gillinder & Sons in the late 19th century, this Westward Ho frosted lidded compote represents one of the most iconic patterns in Early American Pattern Glass. The design features deeply molded frontier scenes, defined by frosted satin reliefs contrasted against clear pressed panels, a hallmark of Gillinder’s craftsmanship during the Centennial era.
The pedestal form and figural finial add sculptural presence, making the piece equally suitable for display or table service.
