A remarkable 19th century Spanish lebrillo featuring traditional green slip decoration and original hand-forged staple repairs (grapas) — a highly prized hallmark of authentic antique Spanish pottery. These staples were used throughout Andalusia before modern adhesives existed, and they tell the story of a vessel so valued that it was repaired rather than discarded.
The bowl displays a bold foliate central motif with radiating zig-zag slip bands, all hand-painted in classic green manganese-oxide glaze. The terracotta body shows beautiful patina, surface wear, glaze loss, and historical repairs that add tremendous character and documentary value.
