The form appeared to be molded from iron-rich red earthenware and finished with a warm red iron-oxide slip and partial lead-free glaze. The decorative design is an elaborate floral scroll in black, a nice contrast to the red body. The center is a shell design in a depressed area, and above it is an area occupied by two circles into which square containers with covers, one is for ink. The is a factory mark and a number 26. My limited knowledge of English ceramics and cannot identify the factory name. See less
