Harry Bertoia originally designed the chairs … Read more A pair of Mid Century Modern large "diamond" chrome metal chairs from the 1960's. Harry Bertoia originally designed the chairs in the early 1950's for Knoll. These diamond chairs are made with welded steel rods in polished satin chrome. Knoll has continued to produce the chairs. The chrome metal chairs are in very good condition for their age and use. The welds are structurally sound and the steel bases are intact. One of the chairs was covered with the original cushioned pad, which we removed because the latex foam rubber had disintegrated. The original Knoll marks are shown in the photos. The pad and Knoll maker's marks are available to the buyer as a pattern for replacement. Replacement pads are available from various sources or may be created by an upholsterer from the original pad.
