The bowl itself is made of white porcelain with hand-painted floral motifs on the inside, and a scalloped, ornate rim with colorful ribbons and bouquets. The bowl is set within a decorative gilt bronze (ormolu) mount that features a pierced, openwork border and is supported by a pedestal base with scrollwork and garlands. The side is adorned with a hand-painted pastural scene.
