Kangxi period Imari plate featuring cranes and flowering plants and other motifs like Bamboo and chrysanthemums symbolizing longvity.
In China cranes have a spiritual meaning where they are a form of divine bird which travels between heaven and man's world.
The crane mythology is related with the divine bird worship in animal totemism
Kangxi reign 1662-1722.
A fine early Chinese Charger handpainted in deep underglaze cobalt and enriched with iron-red and gold gilding, the so called Imari pallette
Origin China, Jingdezhen.
Condition: 2 hairlines (restored) and on the back a rim chip which isn't visible on front.
