A striking vintage Japanese cloisonné vase featuring large cobalt-blue peonies and soft pastel blossoms against a shimmering white ground. The surface is intricately detailed with a repeating gilt cloud pattern (hōka-mon), accented by gold outlines that beautifully catch the light. Finished with a turquoise enamel base and gilt brass rims at the top and foot, showcasing the fine craftsmanship associated with mid-20th century Japanese shippo enamelwork. A wonderful piece for collectors of Asian decorative arts, or as an elegant accent in a Chinoiserie, Hollywood Regency, or eclectic interior. Lovely displayed on its own or paired with other cloisonné pieces in complementary tones.
