A Troubadour Clock / Directoire Gilt Bronze Clock, Circa 1800
The clock depicts a troubadour, or medieval musician, playing a flute. The figure of the troubadour stands to the side of the clock dial, with a lute or guitar resting on a small stool nearby. A music stand is positioned above the dial. The base is often decorated with dolphins.
