It was a jewelry company which sold clocks. They bought the Winterhalder company in Germany, took their movement designs and made improvements. This is a chain driven walnut hall clock in a Chippendale style. It may be their Emperor model. There are two glass doors. Face reads: Tempis Fugit (Time Flies) and Herschede. It has 3 brass weighted tubes, chime rods and a built in level. It plays Westminster chimes on the hour and quarter hour. There are many Youtube and written instructions on Google as to how to work a chain driven clock. It’s in excellent working condition. The case has minimal evidence of wear. One of the tubes has discolored..needs to be polished. No serious damage or repairs.
