This striking walnut clock (also referred to as a Gingerbread, Shelf, Parlor, or Mantle Clock) features an eight-day time and strike movement. Produced in the late 1800s by the E. N. Welch Spring Company in Forestville, Connecticut, and named the "Dolero" model. Its exquisite stenciled door glass, ornate brass pendulum bob with a green enameled design, and intricate walnut-carved case make it a beautiful decorative piece for any shelf, mantel, or bookcase. The pressed wood details, pediment top with bust ornament, and reverse-painted glass are features of Connecticut-made clocks. The movement springs work and it keeps good time. The hour-and-a-half chime spring needs replacing. Clock comes with a wind key.
