This is an Antique Chinese Folding Fishing Chair. It’s from the Qing Dynasty of the mid 19th Century. It’s all hand crafted. The wood is oak with brass embellishments at the two top corners. The back support is curved for comfort and the seat is not deep. It’s in the campaign style and easy to fold and carry. There are iron chains on both sides of the seat which we believe are original. However, the rope twine cross-cross seat we believe has been replaced over the years and is newer. There simply isn’t enough wear and fraying for the rope to be from the 19th century in our opinion.

Some of the wood base has worn away but it is very stable. We do not believe the rope on the seat is original. Everything else appears to be.
