An exceptional and original “Model 2” adjustable chaise lounge, crafted by Thonet in Austria circa 1880s. This rare piece showcases the timeless elegance of Thonet design, featuring a beautifully curved deep brown bentwood frame with gracefully curled details on the base and armrests.
The seat and backrest are made of finely woven cane in a matching tone, both in near perfect condition with no major wear and completely intact. The original hardware is also present and fully functional, preserving the authenticity and integrity of the piece. This chair is unmarked and does not have the original label in tact.
Designed for versatility, the backrest can be folded flat against the seat or adjusted to various angles for personalized comfort. This rare and iconic chaise lounge remains in very good original condition, showing only minor wear consistent with age and use, and boasts a beautiful, well-preserved patina—sure to be a standout addition to any interior.
