Dating to the French Restoration period, the transfer-printed plates are glazed in the distinctive brilliant canary yellow for which the Creil and Monterau potteries were known.

Printed in the neoclassic style, the image shows a domestic scene. A mother holding a baby, sitting with her older child, conversing with her husband and his dog.

Set in a romantic landscape, in front of a manor house. A wide, stylized running floral border makes up the rim of the plate.

Creil et Montereau Faïenceries operated in the French communes of Creil, Oise, and Montereau, from 1797 until 1876 under Lebeuf Milliet & Cie.
By employing English potters, they introduced the technique of transfer printing on a creamware type pottery, in 19th Century France.

Impressed CREIL and showing the mold number 13, along with a printed floral mark.

Very good antique condition – the expected light signs of wear to the surface, typical of faïence. See less
