A striking and rare mid-century modern porcelain centerpiece, designed by the celebrated sculptor Siegmund Schütz (1906–1998) for the Royal Porcelain Manufactory Berlin (KPM) in 1953. Known as the "Flowerboat" (or Blumenschiff), this vessel exemplifies the elegant, organic functionalism of post-war German design.

The piece features a sweeping, gondola-shaped porcelain body with a crisp white glaze, accented by a bold canary yellow stripe that highlights the architectural curve of the ends and underside. Unlike more common all-white versions, this example features a rare bi-color decoration. The porcelain hull rests freely upon a separate, custom-fitted brass cradle raised on four conical feet, creating a sense of weightlessness and separation between the vessel and the table surface.
