This exceptional early 1900s dresser is a standout example of turn-of-the-century American craftsmanship. Built from solid tiger oak (also known as quarter-sawn oak), it features a bold, dramatic grain pattern and refined carved detailing.
With over 40 years in the antique furniture business, we’ve never come across another mirror quite like this. The rare dual-pivot mechanism allows the mirror to both tilt up and down and swivel side to side — an extremely unusual and likely custom-made feature. The mirror is surrounded by an ornate beveled oak frame with deeply carved scrollwork, floral accents, and flowing curves that add a sophisticated flourish.
Additional highlights:
Serpentine-front top drawers
Carved cabriole legs on original casters
Brass drawer pulls with aged patina
Paneled sides and finely fitted joinery
A lock in every drawer, suggesting it was made for a household with staff
Mirror appears to have been resilvered and remains bright and clear
This is an authentic antique, not a reproduction, likely dating to around 1900. It's a statement piece that embodies turn-of-the-century American furniture design — both elegant and functional.
Measurements (approximate):
Height to top of chest: 35.25"
Height to top of mirror: 75"
Width: 47.5"
Depth: 24"
Whether you're furnishing a period home or looking for a standout accent in a more modern setting, this piece combines utility with unmatched antique charm.
