This richly glazed ceramic figure depicting the Taoist immortal Lu Dongbin is finished in a lustrous, high-iron glaze with silvered pooling. Sculpted in a standing posture with flowing robes and a sword across the back, the figure also functions as a controlled-pour vessel. A small spout emerges from the front, while a hole on the back near the handle allows the user to cover it with the thumb to control liquid flow, a mechanism typical of early soy sauce or wine dispensers. The form bridges utility and symbolism, serving both as a ceremonial or household object and a piece of folk sculpture.
