Crafted in Spain circa 1860, this sculptural antique walnut writing desk exemplifies the bold elegance of 19th-century Spanish craftsmanship. The serpentine front adds a graceful silhouette, while the molded top features two raised, shaped compartments, each fitted with a drawer and iron star-form pulls.
Beneath the writing surface, two additional drawers are framed by a deeply contoured apron and adorned with matching hardware. The desk rests on dramatic scrolled trestle legs joined by a shaped stretcher, giving the piece both visual strength and architectural integrity.
Finished in a warm, time-softened walnut tone, the surface retains its original hand-rubbed patina with light wear consistent with age and use.
