A Swedish grandfather clock with scraped finish from the 19th century. This antique clock from Sweden features a low profile reed carved crown adorning it's head, a teardrop-shaped belly with window at it's center, and is supported upon a flat platform base. The round-shaped head sits on a neck with downward curved molding, which is repeated about the waist in a similarly trimmed upward curve. This piece has a scraped finish with gray trim color and gold accenting the inner belly ring. This clock would be wonderful as a decorative object.
This clock is not currently in working condition. Upon completion of purchase and before shipping, a new quartz battery will be added behind the face. The original hands are too heavy to carry the quartz movement, so they would be changed to black hands in a similar in style. A pendulum will be selected and added to work with the quartz movement. The clock would then chime at the top of each hour (the chime can be turned off).
