Wonderful antique bentwood chair in excellent structural condition, just needing a fresh seat. I believe this could be done as a cane seat or an upholstered cushion, and I believe the back oval could also be caned or upholstered if so desired.
This looks a lot like the Michael Thonet No. 10 chair, but it's not an exact match for that model. I suspect it is from the same time frame, perhaps made by a rival Viennese or German manufacturer of the Bauhaus era.
Measures 34.75" tall at back, and 18.25" deep from front to back. The seat diameter is 16.25" across. Seat rise is 18.25" off the floor. The fat oval in the back measures 11" across x 10.25" tall. Some scuffs to finish, appropriate to age.
