Studio Nova was founded by Japan's top-of-the-line Mikasa in 1984 for the forward-thinking, fashion-conscious buyer. 2007 saw the termination of the line, hence its rarity and growing value.
Studio Nova's Tangent design embodies that sense of high style and elegance like no other.
The small blue square in the decoration differs in intensity from the small blue square in the nearly identical "Exhibition" line; it's a darker, more vibrant blue. Could this geometric design have been inspired by the work of Frank Lloyd Wright?
This particular set of dishes was hardly ever used. There are a few light, short knife marks on the dinner plates but everything else seems near mint. The cups hold perfectly in one's hand.
Dimensions: the dinner plates are 10 3/4 inches in diameter. The bowl measure 8 across and the salad plates, 7 1/2.
