The work of the German artisan and metalworker Hayno Focken.

Marked MADE IN GERMANY, his monogram, and the inventory number 930. This is one of the larger examples, measuring 12.75" in length, 9.75" in depth, and 4.25" in height at either end.
Both ends rise above the center, forming a V curve. A less dramatic curve, but otherwise the same dimensions, can be found in model 830.

Some sellers date this model to the 1930s, while others date it to the 1950s. The "Made in Germany" suggests this was produced before the war. It wasn't until the 1970s that "Made in West Germany" was no longer used.

A bit about the artisan:
Heyno Focken (1905-1968) was a metalworker and silversmith who was associated with the ideas of the Deutscher Werkbund and Bauhaus in the 1930s.

Focken received his education at the Burg Giebichenstein Kunsthochschule Halle. While lesser known than the Bauhaus, another important school for the applied arts in the 1920s. Focken established his own workshops in 1932.
