This late 20th century rattan étagère is finished in vermillion red faux tortoiseshell, the red worked in layers of mottled lacquer so it has the depth of shell and not the flatness of paint. The rattan keeps its curves, and each tier is open and easy to reach, with room for books, plants, and a collection of objects.

The étagère is 30" wide, 18" deep, and 78" high, a scale that fits a living room, a bedroom, or an entry. In the style of Ficks Reed and John Wisner, it suits Chinoiserie, Regency, and Palm Beach Regency rooms, where a single saturated piece carries the color. The finish is newly painted and hand finished in our Atelier.
