Large Brass Syrian (Middle Eastern) Engraved Charger, Standing on 3 Legs
Whether this charger hails from Syria exactly, I am not sure. I do know that the Syrians were famous for their work with brass, and that their engraving designs and techniques were “world class;” as, I believe, is the case with this charger.
Based on where I acquired it, and the history of that circumstance, I am certain that it’s at least 85 years old. My presumption is that it’s 19th Century, as the people who packed it up in 1935 were antiques collectors.
Perfect “antique” condition, no issues.
Measurements: 16 1/8 in diameter, standing on three legs for a total of 2 ½ inches of height.
