An elegant antique mahogany center table with marble top is offered for sale.
The mahogany base has lovely lines and carved details. The table legs are on brass casters, and the round 36" marble top with shaped edge is removable. The height is 30.5" including the casters. The generous table size, removable marble top, and casters all contribute to the table's versatility. The marble is off-white, with grey and beige tones/veining, balancing the rich mahogany-colored base.
The table is sturdy and structurally sound. To my knowledge, this is a 19th century table and the style is French although I have been unable to confirm the style or time frame. The condition is quite good with imperfections including some nicks and marks in keeping with the age of this antique table. Fine cracks are scattered around the apron section of the wood base supporting the marble top. Some small nicks can be felt if one runs a finger along the edge of the marble top. To my knowledge, the piece has not been refinished and its condition is original.
This sophisticated center table with it's lovely lines blends well in many decors and is a unique and versatile find.
