Extraordinary Portuguese library writing table, center table, or escritorio crafted from radiant rosewood in the baroque taste. The table has a rectangular top with a decorative gadrooned edge. The desk is fronted by two storage drawers with patinated brass pulls, lock plate, and escutcheon. The frieze has faux drawers on all sides with matching brass hardware. The table features distinctive bobbin or spool turned legs conjoined by turned stretchers. The corners of the table are decorated with geometric carved angular designs. The finish showcases the amazing woodgrains and warm patina of the rosewood. From an estate in the Napa Valley, California.
