Excellent Pre-Owned Condition.
The gorgeous treacle-hued matte finish glaze adorning this mid to late 20th-century earthenware jug depicts two game birds, a hanging pheasant and hare with a Greyhound or Whippet dog serving as its handle. The jug’s motif is reproduction of a popular like-minded European 19th century pattern. Rich tobacco-hued variations of color against the matte glazed finish produces a dramatic profile that will complement most any design style and architectural esthetic. Handcrafted from earthenware, the interior is a creamy linen hue with a highly glazed finish, making it a watertight vessel for live blooms! This beauty measures 10½” x 8½” x 6” H/W/D; interior 9½” high; weight 2 lbs. 9 oz. Unknown maker or origin but if I had to take a wild guess, I’d guess this beauty came from Portugal. In excellent condition with age-appropriate wear.
