Description:
A striking example of late 19th to early 20th century French design, this bed is a true antique. It blends the natural charm of fruitwood with the refined craftsmanship of faux bamboo. The gently arched headboard and footboard are framed with turned faux bamboo uprights and capped with delicately carved finials—each bedpost topped with a smaller finial, and a grander finial crowning the center crest. The wood has a beautiful patina.
Panels of rich birdseye maple provide a beautiful contrast, lending a depth and shimmer that complements the warm patina of the fruitwood frame. French faux bamboo emerged as a fresh alternative to the opulence of Victorian furnishings, celebrating the lightness and exotic influence of Far Eastern design while retaining timeless appeal.
This bed measures 60” wide, with a 54” high headboard and a 46” high footboard, and accommodates either a full or queen-size mattress.
Dimensions:
60” W x 54” H (headboard) x 46” H (footboard)
