Look at the lovely carved piece across the top of the back, and the graceful arms. It once was probably part of a parlor set but stands nicely on its own. It is a light wood, not sure if it's oak or cherry perhaps. The casters are wood and metal. The jewel tones of the damask style upholstery are classic. The upholstery is in excellent condition. It is a professional job with a very comfortable seat. The back also is upholstered. It seems sturdy and very usable to me. See less
